Why We Built Women’s Rugby Roadmap

From questionable gym advice and contradictory nutrition plans, to the minefield of the menstrual cycle in sport, we were tired of trying to find trustworthy info to support our rugby performance and wellbeing. We figured that if we were struggling with this, others probably were too!

So, we decided to build what we wish we’d had - a platform built by and for the women’s rugby community.

Why the women’s rugby roadmap?

Because rugby is about more than just what happens on the pitch. Performance is shaped by so many factors; strength and conditioning, nutrition, injury management, mindset, the menstrual cycle and more. But too often, resources are confusing, expensive, designed for men, or simply non-existent.

That’s why we created the Women’s Rugby Roadmap. To be a hub for science-backed advice, top-level coaching, and insight from the best people in women’s rugby. A space where players at every level can find accessible, female-specific support for their rugby journey, both on and off the pitch.

But we didn't want to stop there.

This platform isn’t just for players, it’s for the whole women’s rugby community. A space for coaches, creatives, professionals and players alike, to connect, collaborate, and share their experiences. Whether you want to showcase your work, speak about a topic that's important to you, or simply share your story - your voice matters. You matter. And we want this to be a place where you can be heard.

Why Us?

Our team have been lucky enough to experience rugby from all angles - playing at international, university, and grassroots levels, coaching in elite and community settings, and working in marketing and events for Premiership clubs, rugby charities, and more.

As our founder, I’ve been involved in rugby both as a player and as a marketing professional for nearly a decade. I’ve had the opportunity to work in elite clubs with elite players, as well as at companies and charities helping get more women and girls involved in rugby. Through it all, two things have stood out: rugby’s power to create positive change, and how many brilliant, often unsung people it takes to keep the sport going. The photographers capturing the moments, the physios keeping us moving, the journalists telling our stories and many more besides.

We know the value of every part of the rugby community, and we’re here to support it, grow it, and help it thrive.

On a more personal note the Women’s Rugby Roadmap is also a way of giving back to a community and a sport that has given me so much; my career, my best friends, and the unforgettable moment where both of my grandads got to see me lift a trophy at Twickenham.

Why Now?

With the 2025 Women’s Euros and the biggest Women’s Rugby World Cup to date last summer, there has never been more momentum behind women’s sport. More eyes on our sport than ever before, and more women and girls looking to get involved. We want to give them the confidence to start playing, and to provide women and girls already in the game with the support they need to achieve their goals.

So what’s next?

Explore our resources, connect with members of the community, or reach out to share your story, because this platform is as much yours as it is ours!
