With 12 years professional playing experience alongside 9 years of coaching, Charlie has spent his entire adult life in rugby!

After retiring from playing Charlie stepped into full time coaching in The PWR, firstly as defence and forwards coach at Loughborough Lightning and secondly as defence & U23s coach at Sale Sharks Women where he now works.

Whilst playing Charlie coached Cheltenham Tigers 1XV and 2XV to multiple national championship titles so has a wealth of experience within both the elite and grassroots games allowing him to help you build the best pre season possible whatever your team’s level.

Throughout the 4 week series Charlie will be sharing the exact same strategies he uses within the PWR and helping you apply those same principles to your own environment.

  • Following on from the planning principles discussed at the start of the series, this webinar details how coaches can safely and progressively reintroduce contact throughout pre season, ensuring players are game-ready while reducing unnecessary risk.

    This session will cover:

    ​✔ How to plan and structure a safe, progressive reintroduction to contact within your wider pre season programme.

    ✔ Why contact doesn't have to mean full live tackles from day one, and how groundwork, bag work, wrestling and position-specific work can be used to gradually prepare players for tackling

    ✔ How tackle technique, carry technique and power-based drills can be used to simultaneously develop skills and reintroduce contact exposure.
