Why You're Not Getting Rewarded for Jackling
If you keep thinking you’ve made a successful jackal only for the ref to tell you to leave it, this one’s for you!
Here’s why you might not be getting rewarded and what you can do to fix it.
The problem: You’re just resting your hands on the ball.
Why it matters:
The ref can’t see that ripping motion that they need to see to be able to award you the penalty.
You’re giving the attacking team more time to clear you out.
The Solution: When you get into a great jackling position make sure you’re ripping the ball off the floor into your chest. This should mean you either get the penalty for holding on, or you successfully rip the ball away and win the turnover.
